Join our Group Security team, where you will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of security across the Emirates Group. Our diverse security units include Security Training, Group Security Command Centre, Hub Ops Unit, Crime Prevention & Investigation Unit, Threat & Risk Assessment Unit, Aviation Security Assurance unit, and Business Support Unit—all working together to develop and implement comprehensive security strategies.

As an AVSEC Controller Standards & Procedures, you will oversee, plan, and regularly update the EK AOSP, SSPs, AVSEC SOPs, and related regulatory programs to ensure compliance and effective SARPs implementation, by developing and refining AVSEC SOPs for external clients and contracted agencies. You will also implement security standards in line with the EK AOSP, UAE's National Civil Aviation Security Programme, and international regulations.
In this role you will:
- Develop AOSPs, SSPs, AVSEC SOPs, EU ACC3-RA3 reports, Regulated Agents/Known Consignors Programmes and associated components meeting the standards, SLAs and requirements of the customer and clients, regulatory agencies as well as for enhanced measures & controls for EK operations.
- Review and align business processes, SOPs, and their components with the actual operations and practical implementation of cargo, passenger, aircraft, baggage, catering, and additional enhanced secondary security measures and controls
- Manage and maintain the repository, SharePoint, InfoSpace, and data for all regulatory documents, SOPs, reports, assessment questionnaires, approvals, and the distribution of AOSPs/SSPs and other related documents.
- Conduct and participate in surveys, audits, inspections, exercises, and tests at hubs and outstations to assess the effective implementation of SARPs, SOPs, SSPs, EK AOSP, Quality Assurance Program, as well as the SLAs of authorized contracted service providers and customers' air carriers.
- Ensure effective coordination across all Group Security units to align standards, SOPs, procedures, and processes with SOP components and implement them promptly.
- Work closely with departments like Ground Handling, EKAS, SkyCargo, International Affairs, Contracted Validators, and government agencies (e.g., DA, GCAA, regulatory bodies) to develop standards, procedures, processes, alternate procedures, and program amendments in alignment with SARPs' intent and proper interpretation.
- Advise Group Security units, employees, ASMs, EK SkyCargo managers, and other stakeholders at both hubs and outstations on security policies, SARPs, measures, and controls in line with SOPs, SSPs, and SLAs.
- Develop strategies to address non-compliance, violations, and findings by conducting a thorough Root-Cause Analysis using the "Five Whys" method. This includes determining appropriate corrective actions, evaluating their effectiveness, and maintaining records along with graphical representations to identify and interpret common or recurring causes.
Qualification
To be considered for the role, you must meet below requirements:
- Completed Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent).
- Bring a minimum of 5 years’ experience in security.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of aviation security e.g. Annex 17 of ICAO
- Have knowledge of IATAs security regulations, bomb detection and its disposal training, extra ordinary security procedures and measures in case of hijacks, accidents and bomb threats.
- Have knowledge of the functioning of various departments working airside as well as landside.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills both written and spoken. Should have report writing skills.
- Be able to maintain close relations with various departments, air carriers, aviation organisations/associations and government functionaries considering the sensitive nature of the job.
- Show a flexible approach and rational thinking in order to provide recommendations that are pragmatic in case of threat to aircraft.
- Be able to work independently and take decisions when required. Be able to take initiative when issues arise.
