As a Cargo Hub Operations Officer you will plan, control, co-ordinate and expedite the operational or recovery activities together with deployment of resources and activities of a specific Cargo Operational section at Dubai Cargo Hub (EK Cargo) in order to facilitate efficient and cost effective processing of system-wide booked cargo loads or discrepancies. Ensure optimum capacity utilization in accordance with the contractual commitments and product priorities and/or ensure speedy resolution of discrepancies through liaison with network and regulatory authorities; obtain permits as appropriate from regulatory authorities. Maintain quality performance standards without compromising safety and schedules.
In this role, you will;
• The jobholder is responsible for the management and administration of the cargo operational activities of a specific section/ activity at the Dubai Hub. Align strategies with internal sections and departments of Emirates Regulatory Authorities and Service Providers to ensure that operational priorities are actionned pro-actively and efficiently to achieve the highest standards with the optimum safe utilisation of available capacity.
• Ensure at all times, that the handling of time and temperature sensitive/pharmaceutical shipments demonstrates compliance to the EU GDP requirements.
• Maintains a record of the activities of the shift producing an Activity Report detailing the rate of attainment together with disruptions/deviations from the plan, their reasons and recommendations to prevent reoccurrence and also for the Senior Cargo Management to facilitate decision and development processes.
• Liaise and co-ordinates on behalf of Emirates SkyCargo Hub Operations with concerned departments and authorities in the event of disruptions/incidents to facilitate continuity of operations. Supply the required information/documentation to Senior Management to facilitate investigations and recovery actions as appropriate.
• Represents Emirates SkyCargo Hub Operations at scheduled meetings of internal and/or external bodies to ensure that cargo requirements are identified and addressed, reporting proposed changes to policies and procedures for Senior Management action/approval as and when it is required.
• Measure, assess and evaluate the standards of network implementation of agreed cargo policies and procedures for the range of products and recommending/evaluating strategy and or procedural changes and enhancements where and when appropriate to ensure market leadership. Action service recovery initiatives expeditiously, to manage and promote customer loyalty relationships.
• Effective communication (written/electronic and verbal) with internal/external customer and service providers in order to promote and maintain a focused, efficient, motivated professional team with quality outputs and market image.
To be considered for this role, you must meet the below;
• 12 Years schooling or equivalent
• 5 Years Experience in airline cargo or ground handling section of which 3 years should have been at a Supervisory level.
• Aircraft handling, including weight and balance, cargo load planning, ramp handling.
• Ability to demonstrable high level of knowledge and competence in Good Distribution Practice (GDP) acquired through experience and training.
• Knowledge of a cargo terminal handling with automated and computerized operating and communication systems.
• Ability to manage subordinates, lead a team and effective communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and possess strong communication skills and work independently with minimal guidance.
• Minimum DG Cat-8.
