Job Purpose

Established in 1985 as the airfreight division of Emirates, Emirates SkyCargo is the largest international cargo airline in the world! We are looking for supply chain and logistics professionals ready to support Emirates SkyCargo as our organisation continuously increases it's cargo capacity and develops specialised products to meet the growing needs of customers.


As a Cargo Development Officer, you will identify, evaluate and guide the development and building specification of products and solutions with internal & external suppliers and business partners, following up on action items to facilitate the timely communication of information to progress cargo product development. Process map interface of all related functions including cargo operational functions as a part of development and product sales support of new and existing products and ensure the modifications of processes/systems positively impact quality and productivity.


In this role, you will;

  • Document process maps, analyse and identify process gaps and recommend best process fit to manage products/solutions. Based on process analysis recommend and participate in building IT system to manage products/solutions in the best possible ways.
  • Liaise with internal and external suppliers to document easy to use product/solutions guidelines and communicate to all relevant business units to ensure that all process stake holders are aware of the requirement for delivery of cargo products and thereby ensuring quality optimum of cargo products/solutions delivery.
  • Proactively develop new reports for existing product and solutions, methods of data capture, analysis and presentation to help derive appropriate actions and do provide such recommendation to various functional units through Line Manager.
  • Contract Management with Service Providers and Supplier including payment cycle performances and payment follow up in case of system hurdles with responsible departments.
  • Develop, maintain and update a user manual through inputs from system providers/service providers and network users towards provision of accurate and current information to all users.
  • Develop and maintain the highest standards of customer service delivery with courier companies, express operators, integrators and third party service providers and recommend performance agreements and incentive schemes to acquire and retain the cargo customers .
  • Research, compile, analyse and provide product/solutions related information from network points and contribute to product mix planning and development.
  • Contribute in development of content, key messages for change management related training programmes and support in managing and administration of delivery of such worldwide training event.
  • Analyse the service levels provided against the SLAs for various product lines, identify gaps, and recommend corrective measures. Work in close liaison with cargo Commercial Managers to ensure product sales strategies are aligned to the successful attainment of sales targets.
  • Liaise and recommend to Cargo pricing section and to appropriate stakeholder in the Value Chain the best price fit for the product/solutions. Analyse data to prepare for the annual budget for all the products and solutions Participate in Product Performance Management and support in managing of products/solutions delivery by introducing product features and propose to optimise capacities / incremental revenue as appropriate.


Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below;

  • Degree or Honours (12+3)
  • 3+ years working in Airline / Logistics / Cargo industry.
  • Cargo Operations Procedures, Cargo Product knowledge, Dangerous Goods, Live Animals, Cool Chain
  • Advanced knowledge of Data applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong Communication skills with ability to communicate with external suppliers and internal functional departments.
  • Proven Ability to work independently with proper amount of supervision.
  • Excellent computer and PowerPoint skills. Ability to analyse, conceptualize and propose solution to design related problem.
