dnata Australia serves as a regional hub for operations and services in Australia and Southeast Asia. We provide a full suite of operational services in the region, including the handling of cargo, catering and ground handling services to serve the Australian aviation industry. dnata Catering & Retail provides catering and retail services across nine Australian airport locations. Services range from full service inflight meal supply to technology and marketing solutions for aviation and non-aviation customers.
The Chief Financial Officer is a key leadership role within the dnata catering Australia and Southeast Asia executive team, supporting a business with over $1b in revenue and 4,500 employees, spread across multiple locations and products within the catering portfolio.
This role is pivotal in leading dnata’s regional finance transformation, driving operational efficiencies, and enabling strategic growth across Australia and Southeast Asia. Beyond traditional finance oversight, the CFO will play a key role in business integration, system modernisation, and shaping dnata’s future state operating model.
With a dotted line to the Vice President Business Finance for dnata Catering & Retail, the CFO is also responsible for overseeing the implementation of core dnata Finance objectives. These include compliance with all aspects of the Groups corporate policy, systems improvements, back-office consolidation and performance management across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivery of the region’s profit, cash generation and cash to group targets.
- Financial reporting accountability for the local entity, including Group Submissions, Statutory and Tax.
- Optimisation of cash flow, working capital, and financing to sustain operations and fund regional expansion.
- Partnership with the business leaders, providing strategic recommendations on all aspects of the business including commercial, operations and support functions.
- Development and implementation of financial controls and a governance framework to protect shareholder value, in line with all local and group regulations / policies.
- Driving delivery of dnata and Emirates group core functional finance objectives (including corporate governance, business partnering, ‘many to few’ systems strategy, talent mapping and engagement etc).
- Support ERP transformation
- With the CEO and business teams, develop and drive plans for operational and commercial efficiencies including synergies across other dnata entities Support robust financial due diligence, integration and performance management of new businesses.
- Develop and/or review and approve material investment proposals (including major capital expenditure projects, new contracts and greenfield start-ups).
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance, Payroll and IT teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Establish clear performance expectations and monitor achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs)

Qualification
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (finance/commerce discipline) plus a relevant post-graduate professional finance qualification.
- Membership of a relevant professional body.
- Proven success within a global multinational organisation, including managing matrix reporting lines both locally and internationally
- Experience in integrating businesses, ideally with exposure to Asia Pacific operations
- Strong understanding of technology and digital transformation including ERP systems
- At least 5 years in senior finance management positions, including leading a large team of experienced finance professionals working across multiple geographies.
- Working knowledge of all aspects of the Finance discipline is essential including management accounting, financial and statutory accounting, taxation, working capital management and loan financing.
