Job Purpose

Operating in 17 units across all major airports across the UK, the flagship dnata Catering & Retail UK facility at London Heathrow is the most advanced of its kind, with unparalleled, state of the art kitchens, a separate logistics centre and chefs academy.


As CFO, dnata Catering & Retail UK, you will be responsible for the end to end delivery of the full finance function, inclusive of a newly created Shared Service Centre. You will drive performance targets, develop growth strategies with the CEO on target markets for new contract wins as well contract retention. Maximising current contracts from a service/product growth perspective and ensuring airline profitability remains an absolute focus is key.

You will deliver exceptional decision support, in addition to the core functional deliverables of the maintenance of a robust local control environment and all aspects of financial reporting. The role will also act as a natural ‘right hand’ to the CEO and key point of contact for HQ leadership.

With a bold line into the CEO and dotted line to the Vice President Business Finance for dnata Catering & Retail, this role has great exposure to our Dubai Head Office and is responsible for overseeing the implementation of core dnata Finance objectives as well as working within the “dnata way” our core framework of governance and compliance, such as Group corporate policy, systems improvements, back-office consolidation and performance management across the finance function.


In this role, you will:

  • Deliver UK profit, cash generation and cash to group targets – including the management of company cash policies, working capital, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Inventory.
  • Ensure budgeting and forecast processes are carried out and reviewed.
  • Manage processes for financial forecasting and budgets and oversee the preparation of all financial reporting for the local entity, including Group Submissions, Statutory and Tax and development of enhanced internal reporting systems.
  • Manage local cash and working capital to ensure liquidity.
  • Partner with the local business leadership, providing strategic recommendations on all aspects of the business including commercial, operations and support functions.
  • Ensure the finance function develops and implements financial controls and a governance framework to protect shareholder value, in line with all local and group regulations / policies – the dnata way.
  • Drive delivery of dnata and Emirates group core functional finance objectives (including corporate governance, business partnering, ‘many to few’ systems strategy, talent mapping and engagement etc).
  • Develop and/or review and approve material investment proposals (including major capital expenditure projects, new contracts and greenfield start-ups).
  • Work with the CEO to develop and implement commercial strategies to accelerate growth and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Lead and develop the UK finance team, ensuring we have the right expertise in each of the areas.


Qualification

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant with a degree or equivalent qualification in Accountancy/finance.
  • 12+ years’ experience in a large multi-national organisation and at least 5 years in senior finance management positions, including leading a large team of senior finance professionals working across multiple geographies in a matrix organisation.
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of the Finance discipline, including management accounting, financial and statutory accounting, taxation, working capital management and loan financing.
