Job Purpose

The Network Operations team at Emirates plays a crucial role in ensuring the airline’s flight schedule runs seamlessly. The team focuses on optimising schedules and managing contingencies efficiently to support safe, reliable operations. Join us in keeping the skies clear and flights on time!


Develop and deliver effective crewing recovery solutions during operational disruptions and effectively communicate to the Vice President Network Control, Fleet, Service Delivery, Cargo, Manager Airport Services- Network Control Centre, EK Airport Services & Outstations, Planning & Pre-Ops & Aircraft Scheduling teams. This position holds sole responsibility for the day of ops management of published crew rosters on 24/7 basis. During operational disruptions, the focus shifts to proactively develop crew recovery management plans with the least possible impact on scheduled operations. Lead, guide and coach crew scheduling officers through operational challenges, ensuring continuity of department standards, strict adherence to GCAA regulations and quality.


  • Lead:
    - Responsible for managing the shift and ensuring an integrated approach between crew scheduling, roster planning, training recovery and pre-operations.

    -Responsible for managing disruptions on the Freighter operation for flight crew and Training Recovery during the night shift and make short term plans to obtain optimum utilisation of manpower as well as recovery of published training plans to minimize delays and associated costs.

    -When operational conditions do not fall under the standard operating procedures, provide effective solutions to minimize operational and financial impact on the business. Manage any escalated crew situations and deal with them in a professional manner

    -Manage a team of crew scheduling officers during their shifts, ensuring the effective application of their job knowledge. This responsibility encompasses providing timely coaching, training, and facilitating the transfer of experience to enhance their operational proficiency. Additionally, oversee their crew assignments, lead in the optimization of resource allocation, provide guidance in addressing any deficiencies, and uphold compliance with Emirates standards and GCAA regulations consistently.

    -Conduct regular reviews on team performance, the scheduling practices and services provided by the team and provide structure feedback and recommendations for enhancement to crew scheduling manager as part of the ongoing evaluation process.
  • Execute:
    -Act as a focal point for reference for all flight time limitations (FTL?s), company rules and crew administration procedures. Fully conversant in all flight crew training policies and procedures to manage the training recovery team outside of pre-operations hours.

    -Ensure transparent, precise, and punctual communication with all stakeholders in times of disruption for crew changes that are pertinent. Effectively handle escalated scenarios through assertive conduct while upholding the utmost regard for safety, crew compliance, on-time performance, protecting Emirates brand, and financial considerations.

    -Maintain operational awareness and be proactive while anticipating potential crewing problems and formulate appropriate recovery options. When operational disruptions occur, provide tactical solutions and various crewing options for review with Vice President Network Control and other key stakeholders.

    -In the event of operational disruptions, ensure that all crew scheduling officers are well-versed in the recovery plan and consistently maintain communication with flight and cabin crew regarding the pertinent adjustments.

    -Keep up with the business and industry changes and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance when applying recovery solutions.




Qualification

Experience in Operations/Scheduling

Knowledge/skills:

-Proven track record in crew scheduling/planning.

-Working knowledge of computerised crew rostering systems.

-An in depth understanding of regulatory requirements.

-Excellent supervisory skills in dealing with a multi-cultural workforce at all levels.

-Knowledge of performance management techniques is highly desirable.
