Job Purpose

 


 


In the absence of the Chief Pilot, the role is responsible for delivering consistent and effective management of the pilot workgroup. The job holder will oversee the day-to-day management of fleet pilots and act as Deputy to the Chief Pilot. Additionally, the role carries responsibility for the conduct and capability of line pilots, including managing performance issues that may impact safety, efficiency, punctuality, or profitability.


  • Build key relationships and liaise with Flight Safety and Emirates Flight Data Monitoring (FODM) to ensure close collaboration is maintained between Fleet, Flight Safety and FODM. Ensure appropriate decisions are made to determine the correct course of action following an incident affecting flight safety.
  • Maintain oversight of the Captains & First Officers performance/conduct. Recommend any proposed sanction as per the ERM to the CP. In addition, investigate and conduct disciplinary and capability investigations and hearings when required.
  • Oversee the upgrade process as required, including initial candidate reviews, conducting interviews, and providing support and guidance to Pilot applicants following the outcome of the selection process. Develop and enhance Command interview and technical exam material.
  • Deputise for the CP in his absence as well as manage and oversee ADCP's responsibilities (as applicable) to ensure they meet the Fleet's overall objectives and deliver any outstanding tasks and issues.
  • Lead and support projects and working groups as assigned by the CP. Continuously review and provide solutions to enhance policies procedures and line operations.
  • Represent the Chief Pilot in the required operational and/or administrative meetings and participate in required Fleet specific meetings. In addition, deputise for the CP when required.
  • Review, investigate and action pilot alert incidents. Manage the Fleet review process, ensure objectives and expectations are set.


Qualification

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Must hold an ATPL
  • Experience in Flight Deck Crew (Captain)
  • Experience in line operation in Emirates or equivalent operator is required, but preferred experience in Emirates.
  • Previous experience in a flight operation management capacity is preferred.
