At Emirates, our UAE Sales team is fundamental in ensuring we put our customers first by maximizing our value proposition as a brand. The team is responsible for managing relationships with our partners, customers, and account holders.
As District Manager, you will manage and control the UAE Sharjah and Northern Emirates Sales team to develop Emirates business through different distribution channels in Sharjah and Northern Emirates (SHJ/NE), thus ensuring the commercial objectives of the company are met. The job ensures the efficient operations of the field sales, maximum job satisfaction for the sales executive and the best standard of services to the channels, maintaining and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders. The job also ensures that the Travel Agents & Corporate houses in SHJ/NE are fully aware of Emirates products/ services and are motivated to sell Emirates.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage activities of Senior Sales Executive/ Sales team and the travel shops, appraise and assess performance for a smooth day to day operation ensuring that all travel agents (stockholders) in SHJ/NE are regularly visited and properly serviced by the Sales Team. Ensure the team is carrying out their functions for achieving targeted sales. Provide support by visiting the problem areas with the concerned Executives and help to sort out the problems.
- Analyse and recommend new sales strategies to the line manager, to achieve projected revenue targets through efficient and professional utilisation of all available resources.
- Analyse Agency sales, establish targets for Sales Executive/ Sales team and the travel shops? and contrive sales strategies for peak season i.e. Eid, X-mas, Diwali, Onam, school holidays etc. Organise Seminars or Presentations on Emirates products and services as and when necessary for the travel agents to ensure full understanding of Emirates products and services.
- Develop key Corporate Accounts, draw an annual Account Development plan, continually evaluate and analyse performance of these accounts and ensure that the plan is implemented. Evaluate corporate deal proposals presented by Senior Sales Executives and based on traffic potential, seasonality, competition etc., and advice a course of action ensuring incremental revenue.
- Continually review travel trade developments and suggest appropriate modifications in the sales policy to the line manager, to ensure profitability and explore new business projects. Conduct Agency Investigations for BSP/IATA to ensure Agency layout and decorum is according to Emirates Corporate Standards. Prospect for potential agents for Emirates and convinces them to obtain BSP approval to acquire EK ticket stock.
- Achieves annual sales target set by Manager - UAE for Emirates Travel Shops and Ministries thereby ensuring it is in line with the Company's objectives. Provide and maintain a high standard of customer service and develop appropriate work procedures to ensure best service to the customer.
- Retail offices: Lead and manage activities of Retail Officers, appraise and assess performance for a smooth day to day operation ensuring that customers are properly serviced by the retail team, and ensuring that SQL is achieved as per standards at all outlets in SHJ/NE.
- Achieves annual sales target set by UAE Sales for Emirates Travel Shops thereby ensuring it is in line with the Company's objectives. Responsible for planning and executing promotional activities to enhance business at the Travel Shops.
- In conjunction with the Travel Shops Supdt. review the internal systems of the Travel Shops so that modifications can be made in order to improve efficiency.
- To plan, control, motivate and develop the Sales Team of the Travel Shops to ensure high productivity of the staff. Benchmark retail office against other airline and business standards and make recommendations in anticipation of industry developments
- Liaise with country management, EGHQ and Emirates network of contact centres and reservation offices to continually review and challenge processes to ensure effective and fit for purpose and to share knowledge, best ideas and best practice.
- To develop Hajj/ Umrah business for UAE by targeting all the religious tour operators and to ensure smooth movement, to identify opportunities, offer creative travel solution and promotions for the whole UAE market.
- Responsible to sort out travel related problems of UAE Nationals and Government organizations-including Ruler's office with a view of providing a personalized service, thereby enhancing the revenue and image of Emirates. Safeguard and develop the Company image and assets and protect and enhance the relationship with its client (Arabic, Government & VIPs) base.
Qualification
To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Commercial/Sales with 8+ years of experience.
- In commercial disciplines with emphasis on economics, transportation, sales, marketing, business management and related studies.
- Experience in the airline industry, preferably with experience in Sales and marketing within an airline or an airline related industry. Specific experience of the sales environment of the airline industry, including an understanding of the Internet, E-Commerce, Direct Sales, Marketing and process development.
- Strong people, team management and leadership skills preferably in a multi-cultural environment. Expertise in selling of airline, with an excellent knowledge of geography. Clear understanding of the travel industry and thorough knowledge of the market place.
