Job Purpose

Emirates Flight Training Facilities offer an advanced facility with full-flight simulators for Emirates' Airbus and Boeing fleet. It is a modern training facility for its flight deck crew. The Flight Training Facilities provide a range of world-class training and development programs for its workforce and other aviation professionals. In Dubai, these include the Emirates Flight Training Academy for cadets, Emirates Aviation University, the Emirates Cabin Crew Training Centre, and numerous programs specially created for different segments of its employees.


As Engineer Flight Simulator I role, you will supervise a group or team of engineers and participate in the provision of reliable training time for Flight Operations, Cabin Crew Training, and third-party airline Flight Deck Crew. To ensure section projects and statements of work are completed within projected cost and timescale.


In this role, you will:

  • Management of projects delegating to engineers from planning to execution stage involving internal/external agencies. Projects will be multi-disciplinary and complex in nature.
  • Provide specialist and generalist help and guidance to engineers. Support MFTF by providing expert input when required. Time will be spent delegating and organising work patterns of engineers.
  • Will be expected to use theory and application of engineering principles. Experiential knowledge will also be a significant factor in assessing situations and planning resolution of problems encountered.
  • Will be expected to be time-bound in executing complex projects within budget. Will also coordinate effort and monitor performance of external technical contractors as part of overall project management requirement.
  • Maintain standards of service to Flight Operations, 3rd Party Training, Cabin Crew Training, In-flight Services Training. Communication of events and information to internal contacts to allow contacts to plan or modify their plans accordingly. Frequent contact and development of working relationships essential to smooth running of operation.
  • To provide technical and experiential input to MFTF during procurement or supplier support activities that have a direct impact on purchasing policy. To gain such information by interacting with engineers and assessing their feedback.
  • Scheduling activities and work plans on a daily/weekly/monthly basis as preventive maintenance or distribution of faults for analysis and rectification. May involve interaction and contact with suppliers and consumers of operational services
  • Role Holder will be prepared to deal with complex problems sometimes creatively and sometimes over an extended timescale. Problems may require a heuristic approach where end results are sometimes indeterminate. Problems may be technical or man-management in nature.
  • Role Holder will work within established procedural framework ensuring integrity of training software and simulation fidelity. Will always work to highest safety standards both in terms of personal safety of self and others; in terms of Regulatory Authority requirements that may have a direct impact on crew training and safety.


Qualification

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
  • Minimum of Flight Operations/Other 5+ Years 
  • With experience in the Aeronautical industry. Alternatively academic requirements may be substituted for proven experience and expertise gained within the industry.
  • The jobholder requires professional experience within the simulation and training equipment industry.
  • The jobholder is required to be technically aware, and to have well-developed team development skills.
  • Should also show an interest in developing financial and budget awareness.
  • The jobholder should have a track record of managing medium to large technical organisations with experience in planning and implementing policy in such operations. The ability to effectively manage change is vital to the job. The jobholder should be capable of producing results in multidisciplinary environments.
