Description & Requirements
**This position is open to all eligible candidates within the Airbus fleet.
The Fleet Technical Pilot (FTP) plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and technically sound operation of fleet aircraft. Reporting to the Chief Pilot Technical Operations (CP-TO), the FTP facilitates post-maintenance, customer acceptance, and phase-out flights in coordination with Engineering and manufacturers. FTP also oversees the incorporation of aircraft document revisions, supports the development of technical procedures and policies, provides operational technical support to flight crews, and reviews compliance observations.
- Liaising with Safety Managers, following up on safety incidents, and attending safety debriefs with Flight Safety department, as requested by the respective fleet. Additionally, reviewing any recommendation(s) which may arise because of the external and/or internal safety investigation.
- Facilitation of Post Maintenance Check Flights, Customer Acceptance, and Phase out flights in liaison with Engineering, the manufacturer, and other necessary departments in accordance with section Maintenance Check Flights.
- Incorporation of type specific aircraft document revisions (such as FCOM, FCTM, MEL, etc.) The FTP will facilitate incorporation of FCIs into the appropriate manuals and review documentation periodically to ensure compliance with internal and external non-regulatory and regulatory requirements.
- Development of technical procedures and policies as requested by the CP-TO, and generation of FCI/FCNs if deemed necessary.
- A clear oversight of the line operational technical issues and when requested provision of technical support to crew.
- Review and highlight any line observation by the Compliance Monitoring team.
- Any additional duties assigned by the CP-TO (refer to FTP Duties).
Qualification
Experience:
Captain within Emirates
Knowledge / Skills:
- An engineering degree would be an advantage but is not mandatory.
- Line operation experience on the applicable aircraft type within Emirates.
- Technical knowledge of the specific aircraft type is required.
