Description & Requirements
As a Galley Planning Specialist, you will manage all cabin and galley stowage space, and publish Packing and Loading Instructions for the Emirates fleet of aircraft to enable safe, optimum, and efficient loading of the in-flight product on-board aircraft by the airlines contractors around the network
In this role you will:
- Be responsible for a business area or function within the team and implementation of all galley changes for this area, such as for new services or products.
- Effectively manage projects in your assigned area by defining and controlling project scope and timelines, holding other stakeholders to account where needed.
- Collaborate with Service Delivery stakeholders and catering contractors to determine optimum stowage positions and item exchange plans for new products or services. Evaluate through loading trials and make recommendations to ensure the suitability of these products from a packing and loading perspective.
- Effectively implement the use of galley and compartment stowages by planning cross-functionally within Service Delivery to ensure these are easily accessible by crew for a methodical, speedy, and efficient delivery of service.
- Drive initiatives to improve galley plans where problems are identified, or which will result in better space availability, sustainability, inventory management, or any other departmental goal.
- Produce and publish accurate and timely galley plans to ensure service providers have the correct specification for loading catering on Emirates flights. Ensure that all plans conform to regulatory aircraft weight and balance requirements and comply with all aviation safety regulations and those stipulated by the galley manufacturers.
Qualification
To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in In-Flight Services of which 3 years with catering operations experience
- In-depth knowledge of producing and publishing catering operation plans
- Proficient in MS Excel with good analytical abilities
- Proven track record in process improvement and an ability to initiate improvement projects
