As a Junior Cargo Assistant you will oversee the physical handling of all cargo, courier and mail and ensure all associated documentation is processed either manually or within automated systems to enable the safe and efficient import and export of cargo.

In this role you will:

• Oversee the acceptance and delivery of cargo, courier and mail maintaining a high standard of customer service.
• Oversee the work of porters and equipment operators in the build up and breakdown of cargo, courier and inspect and verify cargo at each stage to ensure conformance with defined standards
• Carry out an inventory of goods at the request of customers and record any deviations.
• Record the details of cargo accepted and delivered for tracking purposes, using manual and automated systems.
• Inspect and validate all associated cargo documentation to ensure the safe and efficient acceptance and delivery of cargo.
• Assist and support all officials to ensure the safe and efficient movement of cargo, courier and mail.
• Ensure that dangerous goods are handled in compliance with the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
• Ensure that the handling of time and temperature sensitive/pharmaceutical shipments demonstrate complaicen with EU GDP requirements.

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirement:

• Experience in a warehouse/logistics role
• Ability to use computerised data recording systems
• Successful completion of cargo dangerous goods training
• Knowledge of airfreight computer applications
