Job Purpose

 


As a Maintenance Duty Control Manager you will be accountable to provide a focal and effective interface between Emirates Engineering and other Operational departments. You will monitor aircraft technical performance across the Emirates network and provide immediate direction and guidance on the corrective maintenance necessary to operational aircraft to ensure the highest standard of aircraft dispatch reliability is maintained without compromising on airworthiness and safety. You will initiate, where required, predictive/ proactive maintenance to ensure the product delivered is of the highest standard and quality.


In this role you will:

  • Monitor all EK aircraft technical performance across the Emirates network and provide a single point of contact, direction and feedback that will ensure the appropriate corrective aircraft maintenance is performed that will produce the highest possible aircraft dispatch reliability.
  • Manage and control all outstation Aircraft On Ground (AOG) events and technical delays through coordinating with all Emirates Engineering and other company departments in Dubai, and any outstation third party providers including Other Airlines to ensure rapid aircraft recovery is performed that will minimise schedule disruption. Additionally, to activate and organise Rapid Response Unit (RRU) team, tooling and equipment and spares and ensure all arrangements are made whenever necessary.
  • Receive, generate, analyse and disseminate aircraft technical performance information ensuring accurate and authentic information is provided to Emirates Engineering and Company Senior Management and to the appropriate Regulatory Airworthiness Authorities Monitor all Minimum Equipment Lists (MEL) across the EK fleet on a daily basis. Analysing, planning remedial/corrective actions which will enable Base/Line Maintenance to effectively utilise the available ground time to rectify thereby ensuring the higher level of maintenance and utilisation of aircraft is achieved.
  • Provide guidance and technical advice to flight crew and cabin crew, using secure air to ground data links and aircraft system interrogation devices in order to solve major technical problems encountered in flight, assisting in restoring defective systems/services to normal. Additionally, provide guidance and technical assistance to engineers at outstations to resolve technical issues in the most effective manner.
  • Actively cooperate and coordinate with aircraft manufacturers, vendors and other engineering sections to ensure the necessary diagnostic tools are effectively utilised to conduct preventive and predictive maintenance thereby reducing operational costs. Ensure maintenance aid tools for fault monitoring (Airman , AHM and RIS) are functioning effectively and accurately for use.
  • Plan and allocate work and supervise MCC Engineers activities to ensure effective and beneficial technical support and specialised trouble shooting guidance/techniques is provided to all outstations in an effort to preclude serious operational disruption.
  • Advise Engineering Management of the serviceability status of the EK fleet through timely Daily DD status, Daily fleet activity reports, potential delay items and special reports on aircraft incidents and matters of any technical importance to the Company.
  • Manage the performance of staff using performance review process and system. Ensure SMART goal setting, interim/annual reviews and development plans are in place for assigned staff members in order to meet departmental KPIs.


Qualification

To be considered for the role you must meet the below requirements:

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent), Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering - Aeronautical subjects/Mechanical/Avionics/Electronic/Tech Engineering or Maintenance Engineering Licence.
  • At least 12 years of experience in Engineering: Maintenance Control.
  • Experience in Aircraft Maintenance with at least 8 years as a certified Engineer.
  • Must have completed an apprenticeship or equivalent training in aircraft maintenance with a reputable airline or an approved aircraft maintenance organisation.
  • Must have licence in at least 2 aircraft types approvals.
  • Must have an ICAO type II / JAR 66 / GCAA type rated licences on company aircraft as well as company approvals.
  • Fully conversant with Air Legislation and legal matters that relate to the operation and maintenance of aircraft to international standards.
