Job Purpose

At the Emirates Group, our Internal audit function is critical in supporting our organisation’s efforts in assuring risk management, internal control, and governance across the group.


As Manager - Group Internal Audit, you will work with the Internal Audit Principals to plan and manage assurance/advisory assignments across the Emirates Group with the objective of providing assurance on risks and controls and developing actions with management to mitigate identified risks. Proactively share knowledge and provide support to Internal Audit staff on industry practices, risk and control identification, control testing techniques, and the use of data analytics within audit processes. Develop, guide and direct teams working on assignments, while following Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and Internal Audit department standards.


In this role, you will:

  • Support the Principals in the risk based assurance planning process by continuously monitoring the Group's business units risk and control environments.
  • Plan and scope assurance /advisory assignments based on the risk profile. Provide direction to the Audit Analysts on understanding business processes, identification of risk and expected controls.
  • Execute assurance/advisory assignments in an effective and efficient manner in accordance with the defined Internal Audit processes and best practices. Use analytic tools to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of risk assessment, control testing and impact analysis.
  • Discuss and agree recommendations with relevant business unit management. Take responsibility to produce high quality internal audit reports and present outputs to senior management (VP / SVP/ DSVP etc.)
  • Follow-up on audit recommendations with business unit management to assess completion of audit actions in a timely manner.
  • Develop relationships with key members of management (VPs/Senior Managers etc.) across the Emirates Group to gain a comprehensive understanding of business units and to identify changes in people, processes and technology that may impact the risk and control environment.
  • Ensure audit teams comply with internationally accepted auditing standards and codes of ethics published by regulatory bodies including the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
  • Take responsibility for performance and development of staff through effective coaching and engagement.
  • Keep up to date with internal audit, risk and industry developments through association with professional bodies, to support the promotion of best practices across the department and the organisation.


Qualification

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements: 

  • Degree (12+3 or equivalent) with 8+ years of experience in Finance, Insurance, and Audit.
  • ACCA/ CPA/ CA/ CIA qualification.
  • Experience in Finance and/or Audit.
  • Consideration may be given to those with fewer years provided they have suitable audit experience.
  • Experience in auditing / risk management or equivalent exposure in jobs involving review of processes, systems and procedures, analysis of management information, etc.
  • Excellent conceptual, numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of PC applications and major enterprise applications (e.g., ERP applications).
  • Experience of using data analytics in auditing, risk management or finance.
  • Aptitude for continuous learning and development,
  • International experience preferred.
