Job Purpose

Manager Maintenance Control is responsible to lead the activities of Maintenance Control Centre providing a focal and effective interface between various sections of Emirates Engineering and other operational departments at Dubai airport and across the Emirates network. 


This role will monitor and control aircraft technical performance across the entire Emirates network, provide immediate support, direction and guidance on required corrective maintenance to operational aircraft to ensure highest standard of aircraft despatch reliability is maintained with minimal impact to daily operation and without compromising airworthiness and safety of aircraft.


In this role you will:

 

  • Lead and manage the activities of Maintenance Control engineers, ensuring robust mechanisms are in place for tracking and controlling deferred defects across the Emirates fleet, and initiating planned maintenance to improve overall serviceability and dispatch reliability.
  • Coordinate with Senior Management, Engineering teams, Operations Control, and other relevant departments during outstation Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events, providing technical guidance and engineering solutions to minimize operational disruption.
  • Receive, generate, analyze, and disseminate accurate and timely feedback on aircraft technical performance to Emirates Engineering management, senior company management, and Airworthiness Authorities.
  • Develop and implement effective processes and procedures for close monitoring of technical handling agents at Emirates outstations, ensuring aircraft are handled efficiently and in full compliance with Airworthiness Regulatory Authority requirements, Emirates Quality Assurance standards, and Outstation Procedures Manuals.
  • Coordinate with Fleet Technical teams, Outstation Material Provision teams, and/or Manager Regional Outstation Engineering on technical matters related to manned and unmanned stations, including spare levels and logistics support requirements based on fleet performance and AOG handling.
  • Monitor all aircraft defects, including repeated defects, across the entire fleet on a routine basis; analyze trends and recommend corrective actions to enable Base and Line Maintenance teams to optimally utilize available ground time and improve aircraft utilization.
  • Manage, lead, and develop a team of engineers, ensuring high standards of performance, discipline, safety compliance, and training to maintain consistently high productivity levels.
  • Identify opportunities for productivity improvements and prepare plans for future manpower requirements, equipment, and training in line with current and proposed fleet plans. Prepare budget proposals for the section and ensure expenditure remains within approved limits.
  • Generate and distribute daily fleet serviceability and performance reports, including Daily Deferred Defect (DD) Status reports, Daily Fleet Activity reports, Potential Delay Items reports, as well as special and ad-hoc reports on aircraft incidents or technically significant matters.
  • Supervise and liaise with other Engineering personnel (including MCC Duty Manager, MCC Engineers, Senior Planning Assistant – Aircraft Scheduling, and Technical Coordinators) to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality standards across technical records, documentation, coordination, communication, and information feedback.
  • Manage aircraft health through predictive and preventive maintenance processes by planning and coordinating maintenance tasks with relevant sections to achieve targeted aircraft health indices and on-time performance objectives.


Qualification

To be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering and/or Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence.
  • 10+ years of experience in Engineering Maintenance Control, Airline Operation, Airline Maintenance.

  • Experience in Commercial Aviation Maintenance of which at least 8 years in a supervisory/managerial position.
