Description & Requirements
The Production Planning department at Emirates Engineering plays a pivotal role in getting all the required maintenance done in the most efficient manner. Utilizing advanced planning tools, in depth technical reviews and collaborating closely with various teams, we ensure smooth maintenance operations, minimizing downtime and maximizing aircraft availability. Our focus is on maintaining high safety and efficiency standards while adapting to the airline’s dynamic requirements.
As a Production Planning Engineer, you will plan and manage the overall production planning process in an assigned Hanger/Area with specific responsibilities for the pre-planning process, cost control/saving measures, review of all work called up by the maintenance planning organisation, development of a detailed workflow plan and obtaining buy in from production on the ground time and manpower plan. Provide leadership and guidance to their assigned team and actively participate in projects to improve the PPC process and deliverables.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct detailed work package reviews to identify the critical path of each event. Ensure a technical review of all tasks in the work pack is accomplished to identify:
- Task Intent
- Special Requirements ie.Jacking, Defueling, Repairs, Shop input, Test flights etc.
- Dependencies
- Materials Required
- Tooling Required
- Cost control measures
- Any other information which will aid the planning process.
- Develop detailed workflow charts and analyse the critical path of each event in coordination with Production Team to ensure the minimum ground time can be identified and achieved:
- Including a Detailed Check Estimate.
- Including a daily breakdown of tasks to be accomplished each day.
- Including a Resource plan by day.
- Continually review the upcoming checks to drive down check downtimes and maintenance costs wherever possible.
- Lead the Initial and Final Review Meetings to discuss and confirm the major check drivers and gain agreement from all stakeholders on the workflow plan
- Ensure all learning from previous checks are built into future checks.
- Drive the continuous improvement system in the Production Planning Department to ensure processes are constantly evolving to deliver the best service possible to its customers.
- Ensure involvement in change programmes by engaging in projects and project teams designed to create and implement positive change and a proactive change culture in the production Planning department.
- Provide leadership, guidance, training, development and motivational support to staff in order to meet continued fleet growth requirements, system enhancements, improved working efficiency and increased productivity and performance standards.
Qualification
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- 8+ years in Engineering
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
- Bachelors in Engineering (Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical) Or Engineering Licence - GCAA/EASA Type Licence on any EK fleet Type
- Experience in Aircraft Maintenance related activities or Production Planning at an airline or 3rd party Maintenance Facility.
Knowledge/skills:
- Good knowledge of aircraft systems, power plant and components.
- Thorough understanding of Aircraft Regulatory requirements and Aircraft Maintenance documents.
- Knowledge of MS Office applications i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of ULTRAMAIN is an advantage
- Excellent people management and influencing skills.
