The SEP Training Lead, will support the Manager Safety and Emergency Procedures (SEP) Training in ensuring the effective leadership, governance, and operational oversight of SEP Training by driving training excellence, regulatory assurance, stakeholder confidence, and team effectiveness. They will serve as a key liaison with regulatory authorities, industry partners, and internal stakeholders, contributing to the continuous advancement of training capability, safety performance, and organisational objectives, while acting as the designated representative in the Manager's absence.


In this role, you will: 

  • Lead and oversee SEP Training operations, ensuring optimal deployment of trainers, training devices, and resources while driving compliance with regulatory requirements, EBT/CBTA principles, and approved training standards.  

  • Drive training excellence and innovation by partnering with curriculum teams and key stakeholders to develop, enhance, and implement impactful learning solutions that meet operational and business needs. 

  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, leveraging Training Needs Analysis (TNA) outcomes, performance data, and quality metrics to recommend and implement continuous improvements for crew and third-party training programmes.  

  • Ensure governance, quality, and regulatory compliance by overseeing SEP training audits, maintaining training records, and driving the timely resolution of audit findings and corrective actions.
      
  • Manage trainer performance and proficiency, ensuring SEP Training Specialists and Part-Time Trainers consistently deliver high-quality training through robust proficiency assessment and development programmes.   

  • Provide people leadership and operational guidance, acting as the primary point of contact for trainers, leading performance and capability management, championing employee engagement initiatives, and fostering a high-performance culture aligned with organisational values. 

  • Represent and advocate for SEP Training across the business, incorporating safety and operational requirements into training programmes, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and deputising for the Manager SEP Training in internal and external engagements, including trainer recertification activities.



Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Completed Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent).
  • 8+ Years Experience in In-Flight Service In-Flight Administration. 
  • Must possess valid SEP Certificate and GCAA examiner licence.
  • Experience in Airline Training, preferably in SEP role with a major international airline.
  • Experience in adult training, learning and development or management, preferably within the Airline industry with good knowledge of learning and development processes and methodologies.
  • Previous experience in a management role preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety & emergency, security, SOPs, regulatory bodies and air crew licencing requirements.
  • Knowledge of in-house systems i.e. MINT, Paradise preferred.
  • Possess the business, interpersonal skills, and confidence to work with senior managers and Regulatory Authorities when representing Manager SEP Training in SEP related meetings. 
  • Flexible, adaptable, and responsive to changing goals and timelines. 
  • Excellent communication, verbal, written and presentational skills.
