Job Purpose

The Engineering Projects section specializes in evaluating, specifying, and negotiating new and used aircraft acquisitions. We oversee the entire process, from initial evaluation and assembly inspection to final delivery and acceptance.

We develop detailed specifications for aircraft and new system installations, including Passenger Entertainment and Connectivity Services (IFE) and Cabin Interiors.  Our team ensures that all regulatory requirements, safety standards, functionality, and maintainability are met for each aircraft's entry into service. 


As a Senior Aircraft Production Inspector, you will manage comprehensive on-site inspections, conduct project and production health check ,while meticulously monitoring product status, and leading a team of aircraft production inspectors. Additionally, prepare and provide management with detailed updates on the on-site team's activities across multiple locations.


In this role, you will:

  • Evaluate and consolidate inspection reports along with data on program and product/aircraft assembly status provided by the on-site team. Based on this analysis, recommendations to be formulated, and any issues to be escalated to the relevant manufacturer/supplier and management when necessary.
  • Engage in and actively contribute to regular production, status review, and other on-site meetings to gather essential information that can influence project progression and decision-making. Ensure the consistent exchange of information to keep all stakeholders informed and aligned, ensuring that the project remains on track.
  • Conduct regular risk assessment on aircraft manufacturer/ supplier production, supply chain, engineering status and timelines and any logistical challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct physical inspections, source inspections, first article inspections (FAI), and final cabin inspections of aircraft, equipment, and technical product records. Evaluate major assemblies for build quality, functionality, and compliance with relevant guidelines, manuals, procedures, and specifications.
  • Effectively manage the risk of the aircraft delivery and safeguard against potential pitfalls by consistently identifying, assessing, and managing risks. Ensure adequate coverage for appropriate corrective actions through aircraft manufacturers / suppliers' commitment letter for design, quality or engineering solutions.
  • Manage a team of aircraft inspectors, including managing resource allocation and coordinating leave schedules. Ensure regular meetings to discuss ongoing projects, address concerns, and celebrate successes and foster an open, communicative environment.


Specific to Boeing/Airbus requirements:

  • Carry-out pre-delivery checks, and if holding the relevant AME license, provide CRS certification prior to Ferry Flight from the manufacturers facility as required.
  • Review and monitor all relevant documentation applicable to the Aircraft for delivery, including but not limited to: Airworthiness Directives, Concessions, test reports, technical logbook, flight test reports etc. In doing so, bring to the attention of the Manager Airbus/Boeing Acceptance, any issues that may be relevant for delivery of the aircraft or may affect the aircraft while in-service.


Specific to Cabin Production requirements:

  • As required, travel to different supplier facilities and remain stationed to monitor program, engineering and production progress and inspect quality, functionality and specifications of the product prior to shipment.


Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Aeronautical Engineering or Aviation Fields.
  • Holding an EASA / GCAA aircraft license, preferably with current Airbus or Boeing Widebody Aircraft Type Ratings in B1 or B2 Categories with Company approval for CRS certification.
  • Experience in Aircraft Maintenance / Cabin maintenance / Quality Inspector experience. 
  • Preferably 5 years of experience in engineering projects or aircraft acceptance projects.
  • Have knowledge and experience of carrying out aircraft structural, system, Engines, Cabin, Avionics or IFE systems and components on the relevant Airbus and Boeing Aircrafts.
  • Deep understanding of aircraft systems or cabin interior commodities and product quality and functionality.
