Job Purpose

JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Engineer is a core member of the DevOps platform or enablement team who builds, maintains and rolls out CI/CD pipelines as service to the autonomous team to enable them deliver software better and quicker for the Emirates group. The role involves the design, development, implementation and maintenance of continuous deployment solutions and products, and coaching the software engineers on DevOps, automation and cloud adoption.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

Create and maintain fully automated CI/CD pipelines for code deployment, including integration of test automation, code quality, telemetry, and orchestration to support automated build and release of software.
Configure and tailor build pipelines to support continuous integration and delivery for products and technologies, optimizing performance, scalability, and supportability while working within enablement teams of Agile release trains.
Actively guide teams on container deployment and orchestration, and manage, improve, and monitor cloud infrastructure, including shared cloud services and landing zones.
Build and deploy Docker containers to break down monolithic applications into microservices, improving developer workflows, scalability, and speed.
Design effective monitoring, alerting, and log aggregation solutions to proactively identify and respond to issues, improving system reliability; apply container orchestration technologies and containerization principles while working under guidance on cloud infrastructure migration, virtualization, performance analysis, log storage systems, and new functionality enablement in a multi‑cloud environment.
Work on problems of diverse scope, requiring analysis and evaluation of identifiable factors.
Demonstrate sound judgment in selecting appropriate methods and techniques to obtain effective solutions.
Collaborate with senior technical engineers throughout the technical design process by contributing to the analysis of application requirements.
Troubleshoot issues, fix defects of moderate to high complexity, and carry out testing independently.
Shadow Senior Technical Engineer / Principal Engineer to support component design and architecture, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify inefficiencies and propose improvements.

Qualifications:

Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)

Experience :

Information Technology.Other 3+ Years

Knowledge/Skills:

Degree in Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering or Software

Engineering.

- Fewer years experience will be considered for Masters Degree holders.

Experience in DevOps implementation and/or Cloud Computing/Migration (AWS, Azure, VMware, GCP)

and Systems Administration.

Experience in architecture and support best practices in Hybrid cloud environment or Amazon

AWS/Azure Cloud.

Qualification

Knowledge in systems monitoring, alerting and analytics (AppDynamics, Logstash, Splunk, etc.)

- Hands on knowledge of build automation and continuous integration/delivery ecosystem: Git, Groovy,

Maven/Gradle, Docker, Nexus, Artifactory, Selenium, Jenkins, Docker, Openshift.

- Experience with infrastructure configuration and automations processes and tools: Terraform, Puppet,

Ansible.

- Experience in deploying and troubleshooting highly available, secure and reliable services with

automatic failover using containers and container-orchestration tools like Kubernetes/Openshift.

- Experience with issues facing large scale server environments.

- Experience with Linux management tools such as automated provisioning (ansible, puppet, and

razor), containers (docker), virtualization (VMware, KVM).

- Experience in Scripting (shell, python, Go)

- Skills for monitoring and automation.

- Experience working with automation and CI/CD implementation for micro services architecture.

- Hands-on experience on designing and building solutions that allow multi cloud environments.

Observability

- Expertise and experience in developing, operating and troubleshooting Splunk and AppD platforms at

scale

- Ability to write queries in PL/SQL and Splunk Processing Language or any industry standard query

language

Container Management Platforms

- Expertise and experience in operating and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters at scale.

- Expertise and experience in operating and troubleshooting cloud-managed container management

platform at scale

Content Delivery Network

- Deep knowledge in the TCP/IP protocol

- Expertise and experience in troubleshooting complex network topologies

- Expertise and experience in operate DNS infrastructure

- Expertise and experience in operate Content and Application Delivery network (i.e.: Akamai)

- Expertise and experience in operate content and application caching solutions

- Performance optimizations and traffic analytics skills

Knowledge/skills:

- Must have broad expertise or unique knowledge in one or more of these areas, based on the area of

hiring
