This role is within a small growing team and requires the Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to take a larger role managing their respective test project lifecycle from conception to execution and automation. You will be working very closely with vendors and stakeholders, supporting the Principal Quality Assurance Engineer in developing the Test Strategies and Test Automation Frameworks. This role will provide exposure to front-line activities, working with the respective Business Teams and will include some Duty Travel for User Acceptance testing and client/vendor support. The role supports many time zones for delivery, currently supporting a delivery in Ireland, Dublin with a 3-hour time zone difference. 

The role will initially focus on In-Flight Retail and Back-office Systems for a ‘dnata client’, and the test role will be to design, manage, execute, triage, and automate the testing where possible. This may include designing or amending the test automation framework. The individual will need to be a forward thinker, have great communication skills, and be able to manage their own time effectively while working closely with teams spread across multiple countries.


As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer will develop and implement quality engineering practices and processes for a feature team within an agile release train to ensure successful delivery of quality products and services, in accordance with quality standards and best practice guidelines.


In this role you will: 

  • Work closely with project members, architects and software engineers to understand the technical landscape and the context of deliveries to translate complex functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Work closely with product owners to provide early feedback on any foreseen risks in the product requirements and design.
  • Work with the Quality Engineering Chapter team to ensure non-production environments and test data are available, to support the complete set of testing activities across feature teams.
  • Liaise with other release train teams to manage the testing of cross dependencies.
  • Ensure Test Tools are configured correctly and accurately to support the collection of metrics for program and enterprise-wide dashboards.
  • Support and guide Software Engineers to write and maintain automated functional tests through continuous integration.
  • Implement, maintain and adapt automation frameworks and test harnesses to ensure robust end to end tests.
  • Facilitate the set up and adherence to Quality Gate requirements.




Qualification

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field or relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of IT experience (with an experience in quality engineering roles within a digital or ecommerce environment. Experience as a Software Quality Engineering lead or equivalent position looking after multiple products). 


Knowledge/skills:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with developing UI and API automation frameworks.
  • Familiar with common programming and script languages (Java, Python, JS, C++, Ruby, Perl, C# languages).
  • Automation frameworks experience using one or more of the following automation tools: Selenium components (WebDriver, Grid, etc.), Protractor, Jasmin, Cucumber, Gherkin, JUnit, TestNG.
  • Experience using git SCM tools, GitHub or Bitbucket or similar tools.
  • Experience using CI tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in at least 2 different programming languages.
  • Experienced with coding best practices and defining coding guidelines.


Preferred skills: 

  • Experience in providing product input on business process flows and scenario mapping for business solutions.
  • Up to date with the latest testing and technology trends.
  • Strong expertise with context driven and exploratory testing with practical experience of using a number of testing heuristics.
  • Experience working with VMs and containers both on prem and cloud offerings like Amazon and google cloud.
