Job Purpose

As a Store & Inventory Officer, you will supervise and deliver supply chain operations for aircraft and non-aircraft parts, tooling and equipment that are required to support aircraft and simulator maintenance operations, in accordance with General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR) and applicable Aircraft Procurement.


In his role, you will;

  • Work safely, report hazards and manage risks to deliver an excellent service to maintenance that is customer-oriented, accurate, timely and value for money.
  • Maintain currency in regulatory and mandatory training courses, such as the safety management system and aviation security
  • Receive items into the store from vendors or quarantine and rectify non-conforming items when they arise. Issue tools and spares to customers to meet their requirements.
  • Ensure that unserviceable items are shipped for repair or overhaul, managing the repair process of rotable assets. Scrap items in accordance with CAR. Arrange calibration of tools and maintain 100% availability.
  • Use the maintenance information system to manage all supply chain operations and communicate process information effectively and efficiently.
  • Report stock levels and supplier performance to customers (maintenance, simulator, ramp and management) as directed. Work closely with maintenance management to identify and source capital and consumable spares to improve off-shelf satisfaction rates with due regard to economy.
  • Liaise with vendors to arrange supporting logistics services including shipping and repairs for aircraft parts and tools. Process warranty claims without loss. Report vendor performance to management and identify alternative vendors .
  • Provide supply chain services to support the workshops and maximise availability of items repaired.
  • Purchase items needed for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in line with spending limits. Maintain stock levels to mitigate supply chain risks. Monitor outstanding purchase orders (and equivalents) and expedite purchases. Use vendor portals for purchasing and rotable management.
  • Process invoices and match goods received to support compliant financial management. Investigate and resolve discrepancies observed during goods receiving and invoicing.


Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below;

  • 12 years of schooling or equivalent 
  • 5+ years experience in Engineering, Materials, Stores and Supply Chain environment.
  • Work experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in the control of stock and inventory, with a minimum experience at a supervisory level. 
  • Good knowledge of computer applications and inventory control.
  • Good knowledge of store keeping procedures and requirements. 
  • Ability to recognize and identify various types of parts, materials and tooling used in aircraft maintenance. 
  • Knowledge of Oracle and Maintenance Management System.
