Job Purpose

Join our Airport Services team, where you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless airport operations and delivering world-class service to our customers. The team is responsible for a wide range of critical functions, both “above and below the wing,” to keep our busy airport running efficiently, safely, and on schedule.


As a ULD Inventory Coordinator, you will maintain control of Unit Load Devices (ULDs) inventory on the EK network to avoid loss of equipment, reduce demurrage and leasing costs, and support optimum utilisation of the assets to reduce capital investments. To follow up recovery of ULDs released for charter operations and to third parties, initiating compensation procedures for loss or delayed return of ULDs.


In this role. you will;

  • Responsible for tallying station stock with NOMAD system records on a weekly basis for all stations on Emirates network to ensure every ULD in station is accounted for. Initiate tracing action with EK outstation staff or ground handling agents for missing ULDs and provide weekly reports on ULDs confirmed untraceable.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate update of ULD movements on Nomad. Update all movements, transfer information and information on status / condition of the ULD as and when received. Ensure record of ULDs are maintained to highest level of accuracy in Nomad system.
  • Ensure timely recovery of ULDs transferred to agents and offline ports to avoid misuse and loss of EK assets by third parties. Provide reports on delayed returns of ULDs by third parties to SkyCargo management to initiate commercial compensation.
  • Monitor transfer to EK ULDs for freighter charter operations and follow up for recovery of ULDs in serviceable condition. Escalate any loss or damage to SkyCargo charter division for recovery of costs from charter operator.
  • Accountable for the timely return of foreign ULDs on the EK network ensuring the IATA recommended returns process is followed to control demurrage costs incurred by Emirates.
  • Responsible for the recovery of Emirates ULDs interlined to other airlines and ensuring demurrage charges are invoiced for late returned ULDs.
  • Maintain a database of all ULDs in EK inventory ensuring all ULD specific details are maintained with records on repairs and write off actions.
  • Ensure all applicable ULD regulatory documentation in EK inventory is filed appropriately and easily accessible.


Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirement;

  • 10 years of schooling or equivalent 
  • 5+ years in airport operations.
  • Experience in a Ground Handling/Airline Industry role with a good understanding of ULD operations.
  • Must have excellent computer skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience of report generation.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to effectively coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of NOMAD and SkyChain systems, or any other airline logistics system.
