As a Work Place Coach you will act as an expert, coaching and contributing to the development of new and junior staff in various Emirates Group Business Units. With knowledge of the business objectives the role holder will support staff to meet these objectives, contributing towards the creation of an exceptional customer service and operational experience. The role holder will also contribute to the business through involvement in projects identified as relevant to the corporate intentions.


In this role you will:

  • Using experience and understanding of the business objectives and of the operational roles contribute to the review of role competencies, identifying new skill requirements and recommending ways in which staff can be skilled in these new and revised competencies.
  • Identify learning objectives, produce learning plans, coach and support new and junior staff to develop their skills to meet the competencies identified as necessary to achieve business objectives.
  • Through workplace observation, review and assess the progress junior staff make towards developing the competencies. Identifying where achievement has been made and recognising this, where further development is required and recommending further action, providing regular progress reports to nominated managers.
  • In order to assist decision making use data gathering techniques to collate relevant information, as requested by the management team. This includes the preparation of reports for presentation to the Management Team on the progress of planning and development and training initiatives.
  • Identify when barriers (either work related or personal) may be preventing staff from achieving their development goals and assist them in overcoming these by providing relevant advice or by making a referral to relevant departments who can assist.
  • As delegated by the Line Manager support a variety of projects which arise in line with business needs. Current projects include National Recruitment and Development, New Joiner Liaison, systems, communication Management, reward and recognition, grooming and workplace Safety. It is expected that the scope of these projects will develop overtime as the business expands.
  • Identify when operational processes and systems are hindering the ability for staff to meet Dept business objectives, assess how improvements can be made and communicate these to the relevant Line manager
  • When requested by senior management; provide coaching and briefing sessions to ensure all staff including management, are fully aware of all policy, system and process changes and of any initiatives which may be of relevance to them.
  • Work in close co-ordination with Emirates Aviation College to understand changes in mandatory training requirements and incorporate these learning?s into workplace training plan, ensure all mandatory trainings failures / re-sits trends are analysed, investigated and addressed through effective coaching and mentoring.
  • In consultation with Line Manager evaluate staff discrepancy trends and action adhoc trainings if required to ensure that staff are re-trained and have a full understanding of the policies, systems and standard operating procedures.


Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Experience in customer service roles having been spent working in airport operations.
  • Previous experience of coaching on either a formal or informal basis.

Generic

  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential/spoken Arabic would be desirable.
  • Exceptional communication and people skills with sound mentoring and coaching abilities.
  • Evidence of leadership capability and the ability to act as a role model for new and junior staff.
  • Understanding of airline conditions of carriage, international civil aviation safety and security procedures.
  • Knowledge of practices stipulated by ICAO/IATA and local authorities.

EKAS specific:

  • Knowledge of passenger handing procedure within Emirates and of the departure control system is desirable.
