Description & Requirements

Job Purpose

The Cabin & Safety Workshop maintains the interior furnishings, seats, and safety equipment on Emirates aircraft. They are divided into several specialized areas. 


Evacuation and Safety Workshop: Tests, repairs, and overhauls emergency equipment like escape slides, life jackets, HST, oxygen cylinders and fire across Emirates fleet.


Cabin Workshops: Repair and Overhauls passenger seats, galleys, lavatories, carpets and other cabin and cargo components, including leather and upholstery repair for all Emirates fleet. 
 
Line & Base Heavy Support Group: Repairs and Overhauls cabin components for all Emirates fleet. 



Mechanic - Cabin Workshop is responsible to assist Aircraft Technicians and Licensed Aircraft Engineers with the maintenance of Emirates and third-party aircraft compliant to GCAA regulations. 


In this role you will:

  • Assist senior staff in activities such as aircraft fuel handling, wheels & breaks servicing, nitrogen recharging, engine servicing etc. as required, in order to provide essential support for the department operational activities.
  • Carry out basic support servicing and/or component replacements of EK and third-party aircraft as instructed and supervised by the Licensed Engineers.
  • Inspect all equipment before use to ensure that they are fully operational and inform Supervisor on duty of any faults to the workshop for the faults to be repaired.
  • Ensure tools, equipment and systems (including Ultramain) are well maintained in the relevant workplace.
  • Maintain and ensure the safety of self and others by taking safety precautions at all times, continuously monitoring the working area and taking corrective action to keep it clean and obstruction free to avoid any accidents.
  • Work in cleaning aircraft/engine parts in accordance with approved manual specifications. 
  • Assist during push back operation to ensure that the push back procedure is carried out efficiently and safely. 
  • Assist the Senior Mechanic/ Aircraft Engineer for snag rectification and component change, using special tools in order to make the aircraft fully operational to avoid delayed departures.


Qualification

To be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements: 

  • Vocational/ National/ Higher National Diploma (12+2 or equivalent) or Apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electronic, Avionics or Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent training with a reputable airline or an approved maintenance organization.
  • Preferred experience in engineering environment.
  • Full awareness of safety procedures.
