The successful candidate will plan and implement an effective organisational performance and quality assurance programme for the Emirates Aviation University operational framework, to ensure that it meets internal standards as well as regulations requirements of the UAE's Ministry of Education and other regulatory bodies. Take responsibility for preparing and updating the Quality Assurance Manual, University Fact Book, Policies and Procedures Manual and other documents needed to demonstrate institutional effectiveness. Co-ordinate with Deans and Heads of support units in all matters related to assessment, organisational performance and institutional research.


In this role, you will: 

  • Develop methods, forms and assessment tools to be utilised for assessment purposes and provide guidance and support to all units in carrying out their assessment tasks.
  • Ensure organised, ongoing processes of assessment for all academic and support units in the University. In this regard, provide assistance to academic and administrative units to define goals, objectives, outcomes, assessment instruments, Key Performance Indicators, and help them implement the complete assessment processes.
  • Develop databases suitable for statistical analysis and effectiveness studies. Use data analytics to assess the effectiveness of all institutional operations, its academic and vocational programmes, and its educational and administrative support functions.
  • Identify opportunities for performance improvement through setting KPIs as well as process/system reviews in order to understand barriers and possible enhancements to performance.
  • Disseminate assessment results to concerned personnel for continuous improvement of all programmes, functions and units.
  • Link quality assessment with planning, budgeting and decision-making and submit appropriate recommendations to the Vice-Chancellor. Prepare annual budgets for the OPQA and present it to the Vice-Chancellor for approval.
  • Introduce and manage specific performance tracking initiatives through the implementation of operational quality frameworks and ensure their implementation across the University. Promote a culture of organisational learning in which best practices are shared and disseminated across the University.
  • Serve as the custodian and controller of EAU's policies and procedures, ensuring that the appropriate policies are developed, disseminated and reviewed periodically. Update the Policies and Procedures Manual as a comprehensive collection of all current EAU policies and procedures.
  • Modify and improve the Quality Assurance Manual taking into account the assessment results and feedback from various units.
  • Prepare the annual Fact Book of institutional and programme effectiveness data, and data related to students, faculty, student services and administrative functions. Also, make this book available to all personnel who need this information for effective planning, decision-making; and for accreditation applications.


Qualification

To be considered for this position, you must meet the below requirements: 

  • BSc in a relevant discipline. Master is advantageous.
  • Experience at a senior level in the development of strategies and/or strategic initiatives including developing measurable plans.
  • Academic quality assurance.

  • A strong aptitude for quality assurance procedures.
  • Good IT literacy skills and experience with the use of databases and a wide range of statistical software packages.
  • Good awareness of national and international policy developments as they relate to QA and performance management.
  • Commitment to promoting and developing the consistency of the University?s engagement with quality processes to enhance the student learning experience;
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to present information to a wide range of internal and external audiences;
  • Good interpersonal and team-building skills to relate to staff across EAU and in the partner organisations;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and reporting capabilities.
