The successful candidate will oversee the planning, implementation, and review of controls and processes across key units within Group Finance. Focus areas include risk analysis and mitigation (covering internal controls, credit, payables, and disbursements), IFRS-compliant financial reporting, consolidation of Group entities, and service delivery to stakeholders. Drive process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce unit costs.

In this role, you will: 

• Design and implement efficient processing infrastructure to manage high data volumes, resolve service delivery issues, and mitigate operational risks.
• Ensure policy compliance through regular system evaluations, escalating deviations, and recommending improvements to enhance data quality and effectiveness.
• Leverage MIS tools to deliver multidimensional analytics and present actionable insights through periodic reporting and presentations.
• Support internal and external audits, including ICD reviews, by resolving queries and updating procedures as needed.
• Foster a high-performance team culture through timely feedback, performance reviews, and development planning.

Specifically to Group Financial Reporting (GFR):

• Interpret and apply IFRS to complex business transactions, including fixed assets and Right of Use Assets, ensuring compliance and alignment across Group entities through stakeholder engagement.
• Plan and execute Group and ICD audits, coordinating deliverables, resolving exceptions, and securing audit sign-off from PwC.
• Enhance financial reporting quality across Group companies by implementing the consolidation system, providing training, and maintaining user documentation.
• Lead the consolidation and delivery of Group financial statements and operating statistics, ensuring timely completion and resolution of audit queries.
• Oversee Group-wide reconciliation standards, including bank reconciliations and balance sheet reviews, implementing controls, resolving discrepancies, and managing escalation protocols to uphold reporting integrity.

In order to be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements: 

• Preferably a qualified accountant.
• Relevant experience in a large organisation, preferably within the travel industry.

You'll have an edge if you have: 

• Strong accounting and technical skills in a service company with different lines of business operating in a multiple currency environment.
• Significant exposure in managing finance applications and systems.
• Ability to deliver continuous process improvements.
• Ability to analyse complex and large financial databases.
