The Planning Engineer - II will ensure the coordination, review, optimisation and analysis of operational activities within the Engineering Planning, Asset Lifecycle Management, Reliability & Data Integrity & Standards Group (DISG), thereby ensuring the Emirates fleet is maintained to the required standards as defined by the regulatory authority and Engineering Procedures Manual, in order to achieve continuous airworthiness and cost effectiveness of the aircraft and its Assets during its life cycle.


In this role you will:

  • Be part of change programmes by engaging in projects and project teams designed to create and implement positive change and proactive change culture in the Engineering Planning & IT Systems department.

  • Administer the day-to-day work program of the unit, evaluate the quality of the work, constantly review systems and procedures to ensure efficient running of allocated activities, consistent workload distribution and implementation of necessary improvements.

  • Ensure that the section is represented in meetings and escalate any issues that will affect and delay the implementation of the modifications of any relevant programme.

  • Supervise and organize team resources to ensure staff is properly trained, guided, motivated and developed to perform its day to day duties in order to meet continued fleet growth requirements, system enhancements, improved working efficiency and increased productivity and performance standards.

  • Establish monitoring statistics and alert levels to trigger actions for the assigned fleet type. Manage and support detailed analysis of system defects when alerts are exceeded, Initiation of reliability issues based on technical delays data, Pilot reports (PIREPS), components and aircraft incidents review. Maintain and enhance aircraft fleet performance with the aim to deliver high aircraft dispatch reliability. Perform and coordinate continuous Fleet / components reliability monitoring through compilation of the Fleet and component reliability reports and analysis.

  • Manage and establish recording and review of ETOPS critical parameters including in-flight shutdown rate and operational reliability data for the assigned fleet type in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements. Manage the various Dashboards and management reports while developing analytical and root-cause analytical models in line with procedures set forth in EPM.

  • Carry out Rogue units detection and management through efficient processes. Manage the process with concerned departments (ETS / Repairs / etc.) to resolve poor performing component issues. Gauge and report the benefits of the Rogue monitoring process. Implement and manage maintenance task / Mods effectiveness. Evaluation of maintenance tasks, Component time limits and Mods interval effectiveness and recommend escalation / de-escalation as appropriate.

  • Coordinate with different departments and prepare the agenda for the Reliability and DISG Committee Meeting, prepare and distribute follow-up action plan to members of the respective Committee. Review component shop reports, identify failure patterns and establish agenda for meetings with concerned departments to discuss trends for performance improvement. Participate in internal and external audits in accordance with procedures and regulations.

  • Involvement in the development of tools to improve Reliability and Performance management processes. Review, improve and streamline internal processes and maintain the Local Work Procedures manual. Review existing calculation methods and formulas that are used for producing reliability figures or assessing the data and ensure that they are in line with approved procedures as set forth in EPM.


Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent).

  • Engineering Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical subjects Mechanical / Avionics / Electronics / Technical Engineering or holder of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's License for 5 years.

  • 7+ years experience in aircraft maintenance and engineering of which at least 2 years in aircraft reliability programs.

  • Full understanding of aircraft / Powerplant Systems and Components.

  • Fully conversant with aircraft regulatory requirements and maintenance documentation.

  • Detailed knowledge of Asset Management function in relation to aircraft End-Of-Lease activity with Lessors.
